North Park Christmas Parade
2019 December 8
The Dog Owners of Grape Street Park joined many people from the community of North Park for a parade. We carried a banner and the dogs were dressed in "antlers" and some with Christmas sweaters.
Mia's Second Birthday Party
2019 May 11
A great day for Mia started off with rain clearing to beautiful blue skies and warm sun. May 11 at Grape street saw many people greeted by one of the picnic tables near the bathrooms decorated by a rainbow of balloons and free gifts for all those joining the party. Mia’s mom treated all of us lucky enough to investigate the commotion. Here are a few photos.
Santa Paws
2018 November 30
The D.O.G.S. board hosted a fundraiser with Charlie Lumpkin playing the role of Santa Paws. A bench was set up in a convenient place for photographs of Santa Paws and owners dogs. It was a great success raising several hundred dollars which funded two new benches and a nice addition to our small bank account. Plans for next year's Santa Paws event are being considered. Sometimes the dogs were very cooperative and sometimes...not. It all made for a fun day for owners and, we hope, dogs. Enjoy the photos.
Ribbon-Cutting Celebration of Our Two Park Initiatives
2016 March 16
We celebrated the completion of our Mini- Obstacle Course and Free Fido Library. Council Member Todd Gloria sent representative, Nick Serrano, who opened our ribbon-cutting ceremony and acknowledged the cooperative effort of our neighborhood volunteer organization and the City. Local dog businesses South Bark, Ento Bento and Woof and Purr Vet generously sponsored a raffle, as part of the festivities. Thanks to CBSNews8 for your coverage of our two new initiatives.
